All staff were polite and curteous to everyone
making my own toast when there was staff standing about
very friendly staff, good food overall
The friendly staff, excellent service, nothing was to much trouble. Read reveiws that said the hotel could not cope with a big wedding, but it coped brilliantly with my party of 14 as well as a wedding and a full restauant.the food was good and it is difficult to find fault.
New showers are needed
I and the wife felt that the accomadation was well below standard it felt like we was back at a forces barracks and the service in the bar was pretty absmal only 1 member of staff on the bar was pretty busy
We were staying there due to attending a wedding in Upper Poppleton (being the race weekend) we couldnt get any closer. The hotel was definately vallue for money given the comfortable clean room and breakfast included - we had 2 rooms for 4 people and we would all stay here again.
The hotel is approx 10m from York in the countryside, so is secluded & quiet enough to get some decent sleep. It's clean & modern so you can't fault the hotel. Overall, not a bad option if you want a quiet stay away from the noise & bustle of city life.
Clean and comfortable hotel that is spacious and up to date. Well worth the price.
Maybe a bit far from other towns if you wanted something different from their menus but nothing to complain about.
Hotel staff were fantastic from booking through to leaving, in particular Lisa Goodwin, who considerately answered my email enquiries efficiently and professionally and made me feel a welcomed customer. Room service was brilliant too!
Room was clean and well appointed, good breakfast helpfull staff, hassell free from check in to check out.
evening meal menu limited and not particulaly tasty
The hotel was very welcoming and the staff extremely helpful. I thought it was very good value for money.
The hotel was out of the main city and therefore a nice quiet location but close enough to york city center, that ment not too much travelling time spent travelling on out 2 days away.
The staff were very good. The only drawback was that there was a wedding reception going on and we felt crowded out. There was nowhere else to go as hotel is in the countryside.
The package was fair and good value.
Very near our friends whom we were visiting. Quiet location and well sound proofed rooms. Comfortable bed and good breakfast, made it good value for money.
The hotel is set in lovely grounds and is only 20 minutes drive from the centre of York. The staff of the hotel are pleasant and the breakfast was nice
The colour scheme and décor aren't very nice at all. The rooms are small and the finish looked quite cheap, i.e. cheap looking carpets, curtains etc. The actual hotel could be nice but whoever furnished the place has let the side down. I was quite disappointed as the grounds of the hotel were lovely and driving up to the hotel made it seem quite luxurious.
Very noisy, full of drunks who were verbally offensive and messing about with the fire extinguishers at 4:45am!!!! Not impressed when we had a young family who were woken!
